Finally! It took more than 2 weeks, but that saved us campground fees ;). On Monday, 9/12, we went to Paducah and picked up our home. Nice to see it fixed. We spent the night at the KOA we had been to before. Everyone was so nice. Since it had to happen, was good that it could be where there are competent nice folks.
On Tues., 9/13, we drove straight from Paducah to Greeneville, TN - a 7 hour drive. By the time we got back to Knoxville, we were pretty well beat beyond thought. We are getting too old for that kind of stuff. Our usual drive time is 3 to 4 hours!
On Thursday we went to the funeral of a dear friend. John A. Brown, Jr. was a sweet, Godly man. He served as an elder at Laurel Church of Christ for 34 years. So many people at Laurel now will never know what a driving force he was and the amount of work he did for the congregation. Without John Brown Laurel would not be what it is today. Rest in Peace, praising the God you love, John. We have loved you.
Friday, we had lunch with our friends Al and Joann Garcia. It was so good to see them. Certainly hope we get to visit with them again before we head out again.
On Saturday we had lunch with our friends Pat and David Walls. After lunch TM and I wandered over to the animal shelter. So many sweet dogs there and they all had such sad eyes and tried to impress us that we should take them home. So Monday 9/18 we will be picking up our miniature poodle after he is neutered. Amazing how many of you were anxious to share suggestions for a name. Thank you for taking an interest! Think we have settled on Mr. Fancy Pants aka Fancy. I nearly had cardiac arrest when TM said we would take him. He is not a small-dog person. But Fancy knew how to get to him. He cuddled right up on TM's chest and never barked once. (Barky dogs are not our style.)
For now that is the news! God Bless
