On Friday night we drove to Lakeland to have dinner with John and Carolyn Ellington. We went to high school with John, in fact he and I rode the same school bus. We had not seen them in (ahem)a number of years. We met Carolyn at our 10 year reunion, but had not seen either of them since. What a sweet lady she is.
Naturally we spent time bragging, er, talking about our children and grandchildren. Exchanged a picture or 2 (or 3 or 4).
Carolyn prepared a delicious meal (I could have taken seconds because it tasted so good, but I didn't want to overeat).
We did a lot of catching up on what each of us had been doing over the years and the places we have lived. It was delight to get to know Carolyn better and find out how much we have in common.
John has done a lot better job of keeping up with our high school buddies than we have, so we spent quite a bit of time talking and learning about them. With our 50th reunion coming up, it is fun to find out what people have done with their lives.
If all this doesn't tell you we had a good time - we arrived there at 6p and left about 11:30p! Good thing we had brought TD2 with us. Of course, he got to stay and guard the truck and not come in and see their beautiful home.
Carolyn is an accomplished artist. Many of her paintings hang in their home and are just striking.
All in all a good time. All 3 of us slept in on Saturday morning. :)
God Bless
