Nice Weekend

Really, Saturday was a pretty day. We puttered around here and then left around 3:30 for Clermont. We went and ate at a nice place called Oakwood Smokehouse. The bar-b-q was quite good as was the service.
About 6, we left there to go over to the church where the program was being held. While we were in the restaurant it poured the rain. But it stopped just as we went out to the car (what luck) and didn't start again until we were at the church building. I think it rained while we were in there, but wasn't raining when we left.
The program went well and was nicely done. It did actually last a bit long, some of the younger kids were "over it" and doing a lot of figgiting(sp?). Amanda did an good solo. With a little training she will have a nice voice.
Afterwards we went back over to sister's and had dessert, visited a while, and then we left.
No rain on the way home, yeah! But let me tell you, we had a storm during the night. Lots of wind and rain. Got pretty noisy at times and that's why traveling dog decided he would come up to the bedroom and sleep next to us (he is usually in the living room).
Sunday morning we went to Wildwood Church of Christ. Talk about some friendly people, they couldn't welcome us enough. They wanted us to stay for lunch, but we were expecting Sheila so had to beg off. Maybe we will stay next week.
One of the elders is a retired preacher. He started out preaching in Oliver Springs, TN! Can you believe it? I'll bet he does not meet many people down here that have any idea where Oliver Springs is. We also have a mutual friend in Jackson, TN.
The preacher used to preach at Germantown Church in Memphis. I haven't talked to him to find out what year(s), so I don't know if we know many of the same people or not.
We had a nice, too short, visit with Sheila and Michelle. Mary had homework and couldn't come and Michael had yardwork and couldn't come. But we were thrilled to show our new home to Sheila and Michelle. Our visit was too short because Michelle got a call from one of her professors and she had to get to Sarasota and turn in a paper. She thought she had more time than she actually had. Nice to know that professors still tend to be pretty much vague.
That's the story for now. Today is cold (49 degrees), but we are cozy.
