We drove to Patrick AFB on Sunday and checked into VOQ. It wasn't a bad suite, especially for the price. The best part is being we were just across from the beach. It was great to walk the beach in the evening.
On Monday (Memorial Day) we went to Sheila's for lunch. Unfortunately, when we got there, we found out that Michael was sick. We did have a nice lunch without him, but missed him. Mary was there with her friend, Andrea.
We went back to PAFB and walked the beach again.
We left on Tuesday to get back to Knoxville, planning to stop at Chip's on the way. About the time we got to Lakeland, FL, the rain started and stayed. It just seemed to get harder all the time. Around 5, we gave up and stopped near Warner-Robins, GA. Called Chip and hoped to meet him in the morning. But he had business to attend to, so missed him again.
The rest of the trip went ok and we got to Knoxville around 2:30p.
