Luray

Well I have been lazy, er, busy and not being good about posting.
Our trip to Luray was without incident. We had one slow-down where there had been a wreck on the interstate, but didn't last long. The Country Waye is a lovely campground-the lawns are kept manicured and the sites are not too close together. We are in the Shenendoah valley, so everywhere we look there are mountains.
Friday, we drove to Stephens City, VA to go to Walgreens (who knew the only one would be an hour away). We came back via Skyline Drive. It was a beautiful clear day and the views were wonderful. It was a leisurely drive and we made several stops. Yes, TM took many pictures.
On Saturday the campground was full and there were plenty of children around. It was such a beautiful holiday weekend. We drove over to Shenendoah, VA, where our friends, Dee and Gene, were showing their 1969 Camaro. We spent a couple of hours with them enjoying conversation and looking at all the cars. TD was so nervous that he just laid down and put his head on Gene's foot and went to sleep. We managed to get out of town just before the parade started; if we hadn't we would have been stuck since the town closes for the parade.
Sunday we went to a very nice little congregation here in Luray. There were about 25 people. The teacher/preacher was quite good, he backed everything up with scripture but didn't "proof text". The song leader was good also.
That afternoon we went to Culpeper to see our latest grand-niece, Kiersten. Oh, and her parents and grandparents. Mrs. C. spent the afternoon holding the baby (I do think she took time to eat) TD got really excited at first with so many people, so we had to take him to the truck to calm down. Later, he was happy to be back among people and behaved himself. He did seem to wonder what Grandmother was holding in her lap. The dogs next door just barked and barked, but TD turned a deaf ear, he prefers people. It was a beautiful afternoon and a nice barbeque. We all came home tired and happy.
God Bless
