The drive from Rapid City was so beautiful. Even tho on the interstate, the countryside is so wide open, you can see for miles. More mountains with snow (glad we weren't going that far). Since we were traveling on a Wednesday, we were glad this was a short trip.
Right after lunch, we headed out to the Bud Love Wildlife Management Area. Again, so beautiful. Wyoming is open range, so there are cattle grates along the road meaning we had to be careful on the scooter. There were deer and pronghorns everywhere. Mostly they just watched us and made sure we didn't stop and bother them. The does with fawns usually moved them further from the road. Of course we saw lots of cattle and horses. An lovely creek runs thru parts of the area. I hope this picture will blow up for you so you can see the canal running from right to left along the hillside and the two deer.
Deer Park Campground is very nice and we got a large, shady spot.

And you wouldn't believe the deer around there. Not tame deer either.Anyway, we found that Bible Class was at 7:00 so we had plenty of time to shower and drive there. (Buffalo is not real big). We got to the building about 20 til the hour and there was no one there. We did some quick shopping at the nearby grocery. When we returned to the building about 5 til the hour, people were just arriving. How great it was to be among them. The preacher is from Galax, VA and went to school at the East TN School of Preaching in Elizabethton, TN. He has been there a year and, believe me, has not lost that middle VA accent. Really nice guy. Afterwards, I was chatting with an older lady who said her mother has seen Frank James (of the Jesse James Gang). This lady herself had just read a book about the James Gang and was appalled at the "stretching of the truth", despite the fact that the book was to be non-fiction. She was really an interesting lady and I wish I had more time to spend with her. She was one of 7 children and the family was from MO. She was the only one born in WY. TM was talking with other folks and told them about a weld breaking on the scooter and being unable t ride it. One lady, Ella Mae, said she was sure her husband could fix it and took TM's phone number.
The next morning as we were getting ready to leave the house, a friend called and I was held up
a bit. Well as I was talking and TM was getting antsy, his phone rang. The man wanted come look at the scooter. Well, he came, said he was sure he could fix it, so TM followed him to his workshop. He was back in about an hour with it all fixed - and the guy wouldn't take any money because we are members of the church. So thanks, Glo, not only was it a pleasure talking with you, but it meant we were home when TM's call came.
