It has arrived!

2011! And I am finally back to blogging. Hoping to keep up with it this year, but I think I needed the break.
Pray that all my sweet bloggy readers are well and prepared for whatever 2011 has in store for you.
December was a busy month. Traveling Man finally went to an orthopedic surgeon who wasn't just trying to create work for his physical therapy dept. Early in 2010 he went the Bond Clinic in Winter Haven where the doc examined him and then sent him for therapy, saying it was a rotator cuff injury. The therapy was very painful and seemed to make the pain worse, so he quit going. We got involved with getting my knee fixed and he put his shoulder pain on the "back burner". We were so pleased with the attention and help we received from Celebration Orthopedics that he went there for a second opinion on his shoulder pain. After putting him thru the same testing as the previous doc, this one said no way was it rotator cuff - might be tendonitis or damage to the tendon. Sent him for an MRI. His tendon was shredded and his lower bicep muscle was detached. Tuesday, 12/28, he went into day surgery and got it reattached. The tendon could not be salvaged, so his muscle is now screwed into the bone. He has had surprisingly little pain. Tues and Wed. he did very little, but since then has been quite active for a one-handed person. In fact I only had to take Nick on 2 or 3 walks before TM once again took over. Michael and Sheila spent Wednesday with us to help out and we enjoyed being with them. Michelle was also here for a bit.
We spent Christmas day with Sheila, Michael, Michelle and Mary. It was a good day. Got to meet Hanabelle Lector Cat - who belongs to Michelle. Michael cooked a wonderful meal.
As some of you know, Michelle moved to Boston in Sept to attend Northeastern Law School. She really likes the school and has made some good friends; but she finds Boston not so great. And, of course, the cold weather does not suit her at all. Glad she was in Florida for the big winter snowstorm at Christmas.
