Harper's Ferry

On our way to Gettysburg, we stopped at Harper's Ferry. TM and I had been there in Sept., but not enough time. Besides, Mrs. C. hadn't been. It is kind of neat as they have rebuilt the main street to look as it did when John Brown made his famous raid. Mrs. C. walked quite a ways, but TM and I did more while she rested in the shade. After TM got his pictures, we got ice cream cones. Yum, black raspberry for me. When we boarded the bus to return to the parking lot, the driver (a nice lady) told Mrs. C that she could not bring the last bite of cone on the bus. She had it wrapped in a napkin because she was taking it to Nick. When she explained to the driver, she looked around and said "no kids, go ahead and bring it, but hide it when you get off". Actually, we were the only ones on the bus that trip, so it didn't really matter. This driver was a dog lover and talked dogs the whole way.
We had left Nick in the trailer as it was much cooler than the truck. He was glad to see us and did eventually eat the leftover ice cream.
God Bless

How is "Momma Traveler" holding up on the trip? Is she staying in Virginia? The baby is precious! We loved reading about "killer" Garfield. Be safe.
